August 3 2016 is the centenary of the execution of Roger Casement. An event to highlight the contribution of Casement, who has been described as one of the most enigmatic leaders of the revolutionary period in Ireland will take place the Casement Aerodrome in Baldonnel.

Highlights will include a new 30-panel exhibition on the executed leader; a live re-enactment of Casement’s speech from the dock; exhibitions stand from Irish Aid; NGOs and UN Peacekeepers; a moderated panel discussion on Irish humanitarians in the world today; heritage and modern capability displays from the Army and Air Corps, a family zone, picnic area with street food vendors and tours of the Air Corps museum.
